It’s summer, and you’re thinking, “I need to get the f*ck out of here!” Or maybe you weren’t as dramatic anyways; in my eagerness to get on the next plane leaving New York, I forgot all the essential things to bring on a beach vacay.
If you’re planning on (safely) vacationing this summer like I am, check out my Post Vacation Sephora Haul. This is a list of the AMAZING beauty products I got for my next beach vacation. These items focus on skincare and glowing in the sun. Let me walk you through the rest of my skin’s POV of the trip.
I land in St. Thomas, and I can feel the sun’s rays tickling my nose and shoulders. I LOVED IT! Day two, we’re on a beach, and I’m taking pictures (not surprising), and all my pretty little face starts to melt. The humidity and sweat just tagged teamed my face, and I just looked more oily in photos. Luckily I had my beach towel near to dab my face in between shots.
After my impromptu shoot, we decided to go snorkeling, and my skin was getting increasingly warm. At that moment, I realize maybe I should apply some sunscreen. A whole lot more.
It wasn’t until I got back to the Airbnb I had realized how intense my tan was. It made me aware of how much I don’t pay attention to my skin. I never thought about getting sunburned because I lived my whole life underneath the Miami sun, but here I am in St. Thomas, burnt. I was somewhat shocked but more amazed because I wasn’t invincible to the sun like I thought I was. Black girl magic isn’t sunproof.
After returning from my St. Thomas trip, I did some research and went straight to Sephora. I bought some items I knew I NEEDED for my next beach trip.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray
Now we all know if you go to the beach, you have to take a few pics. Now, if your sweat washes your whole face by the time you set up your tripod, then that’s an issue. But don’t worry, babe, I found the perfect solution: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. Man, does this baby work. I literally use this every day since I got it. EVERYDAY! All this running around I do in the city and my face lovely day into night. Also, minimal rub off on my face mask, which is always a plus. I don’t know how I went on so long without it.
Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30
While I was in Sephora, showing my peeling nose and shoulder to the associate I asked her for a good sunscreen moisturizer duo. Innisfree was the brand I was looking at because it was more cost-effective than Supergoop and had similar results, but the sales associate had something else in mind. We end up in front of the Fenty beauty section, and I already knew I was buying whenever she suggested. Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer and sunscreen keeps the skin fresh and plump. The bonus of it being a sunscreen keeps me feeling relieved that I won’t be peeling any skin off my nose anytime soon. Shout out to this island girl for creating a sunscreen that is safe for coral reefs, a big plus when it comes to vacationing in exotic locations with sensitive wildlife.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Last but not least are the lips. Lips are also on your face, and if they look great, you’ll look great! They also need some individualized TLC sometimes, which is why I got the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. First of all, these lip masks come in so many tasty flavors like Peach Iced Tea and Gummy Bear, so there is one you’ll enjoy. There is a little lip wand in the package, so you don’t have to get any product on your finger, which I like. I wake up in the morning, and my lips feel soft and tender. Now, who doesn’t want to wake up feeling like that?
